How will Slingshot Simulations save acres?
Slingshot Simulations, the Leeds UK based tech start-up, have partnered with The Rainforest Trust. They have committed to saving an acre of rainforest per user sign-up at the Internet of Things Solutions World Congress (IoTSWC).
The company’s newly announced sustainability initiative allows users of Slingshot Simulation’s free decision intelligence and digital twin platform to secure the protection of rainforest land. Slingshot Simulations will save acres alongside leading industry members.
Slingshot lead the UK branch of the Digital Twin Consortium and will be exhibiting within their pavilion. They have also been awarded as one of the top 5 start-ups at the global conference.
The Leeds-based company are working alongside the Rainforest Trust, a conservationist organisation who aim to protect the forest land remaining in the tropics from deforestation.
Every acre saved protects the trees, natural landscape and, in turn, the species which inhabit them. This allows the tropical forests to remove CO2 from the atmosphere and contributes to a global Net Zero of carbon emissions.
In addition to the practical impact, IoTSWC attendees who create a free account with Slingshot at the global conference had the opportunity take their photo on the company stands’ photo booth. They could then document their company’s commitment to sustainability.
What do Slingshot Simulations and the Rainforest Trust think?
“Partnering with Slingshot gives us access to incredible computing power and expertise that allows us to rapidly analyze huge amounts of data. We use these analyses on a daily basis to identify areas around the world where establishing protected areas will provide the greatest benefit to threatened species”.
Erin McCreless
Conservation Scientist, The Rainforest Trust
“Slingshot’s knowledge graph technology can already allow high-speed data processing, automation, and insight but now a step further has been taken and anyone can protect an acre of land for free through a platform signup.”
Pete Mills
Conservation Circle Member, The Rainforest Trust
“Sustainability is at the core of what we do at Slingshot Simulations. We’re demonstrating our sustainable digital twin solutions at IoT Solutions World Congress that enable our customers to dramatically reduce their unused dark data, saving energy and eliminating carbon emissions. It’s a pleasure to take this further and allow our users to directly save an acre of rainforest each.”
David McKee
CEO, CTO, Founder, Slingshot Simulations

About Slingshot Simulations Ltd
Slingshot Simulations is a graph-based decision intelligence platform as a service software company bringing advanced data science to the masses to unleash the power of digital twins, machine learning and AI. Our Compass: EngineTM platform addresses three major challenges faced by organizations today. Firstly, they are overwhelmed by data. Furthermore, they lack scalable data science skills and are restricted by the high total cost of ownership of data analytics tools. We solve these challenges by linking and discovering data in new ways using a patented graph based approach. We provide no-code workflows for the non-expert and we can implement solutions that cost an order of magnitude less than traditional tools. Our solutions and applications are being used by leaders across a range of industries and use cases from environmental protection to sustainable business process digital twins and active mobility planning.
