Richard joined Slingshot simulations after building up experience of cutting-edge technologies in distributed systems on various UK and EU FP7 and H2020 research projects. These EU projects involved collaboration across Europe between both academic and industrial partners.
His previous work on the EU H2020 Tango research project focused on heterogeneous hardware and architectures development, operations and optimization of energy and performance.
He has also worked upon the EU FP7 ASCETiC project which provided novel methods and tools to optimise energy efficiency and minimise the carbon footprint resulting from designing, developing and running software in Clouds. His role involved modelling energy consumption of physical hosts and software engineering. His work in data analytics and modelling has also included work on the QuantiCode research project as part of the Leeds Institute for Data Analytics.
